Career Story
I am a veteran with 25 years of service in the United States Navy as a physician. I held many roles during that time including Program Director for a Family Medicine Residency Program at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, where I had the opportunity to pursue educational research. As I transitioned out of the Navy I started my own direct primary care practice, Green Leaf Direct Care, PLLC, which work quite well in tandem with performing sponsored research studies through Green Leaf Clinical Trials.
Research Focus
I have a wide range of interests, as most Family Medicine physicians do. Since I am also boarded in Obesity Medicine, trial related to Obesity are of special interest. I also have a daughter with autism spectrum disorder and so I have special interest in moving research forward there as well. I have had the opportunity to participate in several Gl trials, and CNS areas as well. We look forward to expanding to pain and mental health conditions.

Patient Philosophy or Quote
Optimism is a force multiplier, but hope is not a course of action.

Notable Research Contribution
I have published and spoken on Autism Spectrum disorder, as well as on a number of educational areas. I am particularly proud to have graduated 50 Family medicine physicians with 100% board pass rate during my time as program director. Starting my own practice has been very fulfilling and engaging in sponsored research allows me to continue to engage with an academic mindset, and provide access to my patient population with cutting edge medicine.
